Announcing the 2026 AARC Officers

· Chris, KJ5DJC · Club News

We’re excited to announce the officers who will be serving the Austin Area Radio Club (AARC) for the 2026 term. This team brings experience, dedication, and a shared commitment to strengthening our club, supporting our members, and advancing amateur radio in the Austin area.

2026 AARC Officer Team

President – Chris Kacerguis
Chris will continue to provide strategic leadership for the club, focusing on member engagement, emergency communications readiness, and long-term sustainability of AARC programs and initiatives.

Vice President – Lew Thompson
Lew will support the President and help coordinate club activities, events, and operational continuity, ensuring AARC remains active, responsive, and welcoming to both new and long-time members.

Treasurer – Mark Jenkins
Mark will oversee the club’s financial health, managing budgets, reporting, and financial planning to ensure AARC remains fiscally responsible and well-positioned for the future.

Compliance Officer – Zoe Downing
Formerly known as the Secretary role, this position has been renamed to Compliance Officer to better reflect the responsibilities involved. Over time, the role has evolved well beyond meeting notes and correspondence. It now plays a critical part in ensuring the club meets its legal, regulatory, and organizational obligations—including documentation, records management, policy adherence, and alignment with ARRL and nonprofit best practices.
The new title more accurately represents the scope and importance of the work, and we’re grateful to Zoe for taking on this essential role.
